The Network for Black Professionals is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new project 'Tackling Racial Inequalities' funded by the Department of Communities and Local Government (CLG).

The support received from CLG will help the Network to expand our race equality work and achieve our goals to a greater extent, working with public and voluntary and community sector organisations to promote race equality and help them work more effectively.

The key objectives of the Tackling Racial Inequalities project are to reduce imbalances in employment, education and training, help ensure there are more people from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds at senior levels within a range of employment areas and promote social justice and equality of opportunity for people from BAME groups.

The Network will deliver these objectives through a broad range of innovative training and development opportunities over the next two years. These will include:

The project also includes a research element which will be linked to identifying good practice and exemplar projects from across the country.

Launch events are taking place across the country this month and Chief Executives and strategic senior and middle managers from the public sector and voluntary and community sector are urged to attend and take full advantage of the fully funded professional development opportunities on offer to their organisation. For further information and to register to attend please see the events page.

If you would like to discuss the opportunities on offer in more detail, find out which events are being held when and where or formally enrol on the project then please contact us on 01902 715 309 or email enq@nbp.org.uk.
