Ofsted is currently inviting views on its first single equality scheme which will replace its existing three schemes on disability equality, race equality and gender equality. Responses to a first phase of consultation published in August 2009 have enabled Ofsted to produce a draft single equality scheme which sets out the key activities they will take to achieve equality priorities. They are seeking your views on this draft scheme, which will be finalised and published along with a detailed action plan in April 2010. The Network would like to encourage its members to participate in the consultation process as your opinions will be crucial in helping Ofsted define their equality priorities and produce a single equality scheme that will continue to raise standards. The consultation closes on Friday 12 March 2010. Three involvement and consultation events will be held across England throughout the consultation period. If you would like to get involved, you can take part by accessing the consultation document online at www.ofsted.gov.uk/consultations or joining one of the consultation seminars:
For further information about the events or to book your place email sesconsultation@ofsted.gov.uk stating which event you are interested in. Places are limited, so please respond as soon as possible if you would like to attend.
