Tackling Racial Inequalities - New Programmes in June

We have a whole host of exciting opportunities available in June as part of our Tackling Racial Inequalities programme, funded by Department for Communities and Local Government. The hugely successful project is now drawing to a close so this is your last chance to get involved with the final activities. There are still places available on the following programmes which are fully subsidised so there is no charge to take part.


Career Development Workshops – Students & Graduates

A practical workshop helping students and recent graduates to learn more about how to successfully enter the job market and achieve their ideal career. Includes advice on recruitment and selection processes, producing a successful CV and writing effective supporting statements.

  • John Ruskin College, Croydon - 21st June 2011 - 3pm-6pm
  • New College Nottingham – 23rd June 2011 - 3pm-6pm

Summer Networking Events - for Professionals & Students

An excellent opportunity for both professionals and students and graduates to network with other BAME professionals and make new contacts. Professionals will have the chance to give something back by presenting themselves as a mentor and providing work shadowing opportunities.

  • John Ruskin College, Croydon - 21st June 2011 - 6pm-8pm
  • New College Nottingham – 23rd June 2011 - 6pm-8pm

Career Development Workshops – Professionals

This tried and tested workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to stop, reflect and take stock of their careers to date and start outlining a career development plan in order to become more proactive in managing their future work and career choices.

  • Black South West Network, Bristol – 23rd June 2011 - 9:30am-5pm
  • Newham University Hospital Trust – 24th June 2011 - 9:30am-5pm

Extended Employability Support Services

Ongoing year long employability support for students and recent graduates entering the job market including networking, mentoring, career coaching, work-shadowing and regular updates on volunteering, internships and other placement opportunities.
